Resources for Twin Cities caregivers: There's help for caregivers right in their workplace. Juggling work responsibilities and family caregiving is a real challenge for many caregivers. Since caregiver concerns don't stop at the office door, check out whether your employer provides assistance to caregiving employees. If not, ask that they consider it. For example, many companies provide lunchtime eldercare workshops to promote employee health and wellness. DARTS provides workplace educational presentations for caregivers at companies throughout the Twin Cities metropolitan area.

About Us

The CaregiverMN.org web site is a service of DARTS, located in West St. Paul, Minnesota. DARTS provides transportation and supportive services to older adults and their families in Dakota County, Minn., and beyond. We make connections and create possibilities for people experiencing transitions in their lives.

Within its Minnesota service area, DARTS provides caregiver support groups, education sessions, volunteer respite care, information and assistance, and care management to more than 1,000 seniors and their families annually. The CaregiverMN.org web site, created through a grant from Greater Twin Cities United Way, enhances and extends these caregiver support services. This site brings DARTS' expertise to caregivers and connects them with one another, no matter where they live or work.

Specialists in the fields of aging, caregiving, and community services developed CaregiverMN.org. These DARTS professionals combined their 40 years of eldercare experience with input from surveys and focus groups of family caregivers to create a site that is useful, easy to navigate, and caring in approach.

This and other caregiver support initiatives illustrate DARTS' commitment to pioneer services that meet the changing needs of older adults and their families. In addition, DARTS offers Dakota County residents practical in-home assistance, door-through-door transportation, and volunteer opportunities that allow people of all generations to help each other.
